Offshore data monitoring company Axys has hired Richard Khaira-Creswell as director of the project management office and senior principle metocean engineer.

Khaira-Creswell was most recently senior metocean engineer with the measurements team at Orsted.

He is a chartered scientist, marine scientist and technologist with IMaREST, and has also previously worked with Fugro.

The project management office at Axys coordinates company-wide efforts on floating lidar and metocean campaigns.

In this role, Khaira-Creswell will oversee a team of project managers who work closely with client teams, internal groups and external partners.

Axys chief executive and president PS Reilly said: “We are excited to welcome Richard to the Axys team.

“Providing the right data at the right time takes not only superior technology, but also a strong project management office to coordinate efforts and de-risk our Flidar and metocean campaigns.

“Richard has both the metocean knowledge and ‘boots on the ground’ experience to lead the PMO and make sure we continue to bring the best-in-class value and bankability to our clients’ data campaigns.

“During his time at Orsted, Richard was a positive external influence on Axys as we matured our technology, strengthened our project management, and built a system of safe offshore and field practices to our clients’ exacting HSE standards.

“He now joins a solid team of data, operations and HSE experts in the firm as we continue to improve and innovate in everything we do.”

Khaira-Creswell said: “These are incredibly exciting times for offshore development as we transition to a green economy, and we need reliable and accurate data to accelerate this progress.

“The level of redundancy and system integration in Axys Flidar and wave buoy systems provides an unprecedented level of control for our clients to secure robust, high quality metocean data.

“From this quality starting point, the PMO establishes and reinforces best practice in everything we do across the organisation to support those systems to ensure we get the best campaign results for our clients.”
