The Crown Estate has selected Good Energy chief executive Juliet Davenport (pictured) to join its board.
Davenport, who set up Good Energy in 2002, will join the board from 1 September 2020.
She is also a council member for Innovate UK, a vice president of the Energy Institute and sits on the board of directors of the Renewable Energy Association.
Crown Estate chairman Robin Budenberg said: “I am delighted to welcome Juliet to our board.
“Juliet’s deep knowledge and experience of the renewable energy sector will be invaluable as we embark on the next phase of growth for the UK’s world-leading offshore wind sector. While her passion and commitment to business as a force for good will benefit every part of what we do.”
Davenport said: “I’m excited to be joining the Crown Estate. Never has the challenge of a cleaner, greener future for everyone been more important.
“This is a business with a unique role to play in supporting the UK’s transition to a low carbon future, whether through its role in offshore renewables or through the places it creates. I look forward to working with the Board and the leadership team.”
The recruitment of Juliet Davenport was made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments and regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments Positions.
