Miguel Stilwell de Andrade has been appointed president and chief executive of EDP Renewables.
He will combine this new responsibility with his functions as chief executive of EDP.
Rui Teixeira, who has acted as EDPR’s interim chief executive since last July, assumes the position of chief financial officer, a role that he will also perform for the EDP Group.
EDP’s Board has also approved a new board of directors for the Group, including Ana Paula Marques as non-executive director and Joan Avalin Dempsey as independent director.
Following that, EDPR’s governing body has also agreed to dismiss António Mexia and João Manso as chairman and vice chairman respectively of the board of directors of EDPR.
The new management team reflects the relevance of the EDPR project within the Group and gathers the capacities to continue developing its commitment to the energy transition, according to the company.
Both Stilwell and Teixeira will work hand in hand with the three operating directors of the company Duarte Bello, (Europe & Brazil), Miguel Angel Prado (North America) and Spyridon Martinis (International and Offshore Growth).
The new composition of the management team reflects of the relevance that EDPR has acquired within the EDP Group.
It is also the result of existing growth expectations, which will be crucial for the future development of the Group, EDP said.
