EDP Renewables has appointed Carmen Caminero as its new UK country manager.
Caminero has been the senior business development manager and project manager for several independent producers (IPPs) in France and Spain, as well as deputy contract manager in a major infrastructure project in Norway.
An engineer by training and with an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa (IE), she has more than 10 years of renewable energy sector experience.
In her new position, she will help grow EDPR in the UK, which is a key market for the company.
She will also work towards accelerating the country’s current energy transition, focusing on the company’s positive economic, social and environmental impact.
Caminero said: “The transition to clean energy is undoubtedly an important part of UK energy policies.
“At EDPR, we are committed to effectively implementing this transition in line with the Climate Change Act, which legally binds the UK government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 100% from 1990 levels (net zero) by 2050.”
