Industry body Scottish Renewables has appointed new board members, following an election for the posts held among the association’s 260 member companies.
The board appointments are GreenPower’s Rob Forrest as chair for three years and EDF Renewables’ Susie Lind and Richard Hatton of Enercon, both for the same term.
Rachel Anderson of RES has been appointed for two years, while Mike Hay of RIDG will join the board for a year.
An election for the posts saw a record number of candidates – 24 in total – and a record number of total votes cast and a record turnout, of nearly 60%.
The appointments follow the departure of Jeremy Sainsbury from Natural Power, David Cameron from EDF Renewables, Euan McVicar of Green Investments Group and Colin Anderson at Banks Group.
Scottish Renewables chief executive Claire Mack (pictured) said: “It is great to see so many members engaging in what is a vital process for the proper governance of the organisation at a complex and challenging time for all parts of our industry.
“Increased participation in the election process, alongside the introduction of greater gender diversity, was one of our key organisational objectives, so I am pleased to see both reflected in this outcome.”
Mack thanked the Sainsbury, Anderson and Cameron for their contributions to Scottish Renewables while serving as directors over several years.
