SBM Offshore’s Philippe Barril is to join Heerema Marine Contractors as chief executive on 1 September.
He is currently chief transition manager at SBM, where he has also held the post of chief operations officer.
Barril (pictured) has been a non-executive director at DeepOcean and McDermott.
The move is one of a number of changes to the Heerema board of directors both in terms of structure and composition.
Robbert Sloos will serve as chief financial officer, Michel Hendriks as chief operating officer, Jeroen van Oosten as chief commercial officer, Ramon de Haas is chief technology officer and Isolde Eleveld-Terwel is chief human resources officer.
Peter Huisman, currently interim chief executive, will become the third non-executive board member next to chairman Pieter Heerema and Nico Pronk.
