Norwegian consultancy Æge Energy has appointed Richard Blanchfield (pictured) as managing director for the UK and Ireland to cement the renewables business firmly in Scotland and the UK.
Blanchfield has worked closely with Æge Energy in Scandinavia since its inception in 2016 and is looking forward to expanding its operations covering onshore and offshore wind, hydrogen production and green data-centre grid connections in UK.
Æge Energy is already working on projects in the UK market with clients who have a footprint in both regions, for both grid connections and emergency stand-by equipment to grid operations.
Chairperson of Æge Energy Leon Notkevich said: “The UK has been a pioneer in the Green Energy Transition and our experience is as strong in the UK market as in Norway, where we are based.
“Richard is the perfect match for us to expand our operation and provide the right resources to serve our UK and Ireland clients even more closely.
“Scotland is an ideal location, not only because of its excellent transport links to Europe and Scandinavia but because of the huge growth in the renewables sector here over the past few years.
“Many of our key partners and clients have bases here and we are delighted to be joining this growing community.”
Blanchfield added: “I am thrilled to be cementing my working relationship with Æge Energy.
“Together with an experienced team that already has decades of UK experience, I am also looking forward to building the business here with recruitment, supply partnerships and existing client relationships in the UK and Ireland.”
Æge Energy is a consultancy headquartered in Norway focusing on power systems project development and execution.
