Vattenfall head of offshore wind and Denmark country manager Michael Simmelsgaard is leaving the company.
He joined the Swedish energy company in 2015 and was appointed offshore head in 2017.
Vattenfall gave no reason for the departure, only to say Simmelsgaard had left to “pursue his career outside of the company”.
The company added that head of engineering offshore wind Jacob Norgaard Andersen will take over the roll as Danish country manager.
Vattenfall head of the wind business area Gunnar Groebler said: “Michael was one of the driving forces in the successful growth path of our offshore business.
“I want to thank him for his engagement and his energy and spirit during the last years.
“The development towards subsidy free offshore wind energy is definitely carrying his signature.”
Simmelsgaard said: “Vattenfall’s has developed a strong offshore business over the last years with an incredible pipeline of interesting offshore project.
“I am honoured to have been part of this competent and energetic team. They are among the top global developers of offshore wind and leading the way towards fossil free living within one generation.”
