Renewable energy consultancy OWC has appointed Rubin Sidhu as the company’s managing director of onshore renewables for the Americas.
Based in the San Francisco Bay area, Sidhu (pictured) will head OWC’s onshore operations supported by the company’s US headquarters, the east coast hub in New York, and the global OWC team.
The developer plans to open an office on the west coast of the US and expand advisory services for solar, energy storage, and onshore wind to support clients across the country.
With more than 15 years of experience in solar and energy storage, Sidhu brings technical expertise with a particular focus on supporting equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, plus technical due diligence.
Sidhu’s track-record includes working at UL Solutions, Hareon Solar, and BP.
“The industry is gaining momentum with support from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, but significant challenges remain as we deploy renewables at a scale needed to decarbonize the electric grid and meet net-zero targets” said Sidhu.
“The combination of OWC’s global service offering and track-record in technical due diligence across renewables positions us perfectly to advise our clients on renewable energy projects and investments.
“I am looking forward to putting my own market experience into driving OWC’s onshore renewables growth in the US and broader Americas.”
OWC’s director of onshore renewables Richard Abrams added: “With Rubin onboard, we will bring the expertise we have amassed as a global onshore team in solar PV and energy storage, to help drive the right investment decisions for market development across the US.
“Rubin brings extensive experience in the US renewables market, coupled with technical expertise in solar PV and energy storage.
“Added to our already established OWC presence in the market, this makes us a natural choice to support project developers, lenders, and investors in their transactions.”
