Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) has recruited Stephanie McClellan as a director in the company’s New York office.
McClellan, who joins the company from the Special Initiative on Offshore Wind (SIOW), will lead RCG’s public sector renewables practice in North America, and will contribute to the consultancy’s broader global advisory services.
At the SIOW, a policy and industry advocacy group for offshore wind power in the US, McClellan authored a study published earlier this month that calculated the offshore wind industry represents a capital expenditure revenue opportunity of nearly $70bn, based on RCG analysis.
SIOW is based at the University of Delaware’s College of Earth, Ocean and Environment.
McClellan’s strategic leadership backed by key analytical support has led policymakers to create offshore wind markets on the east coast of the US, according to RCG.
Commenting on Dr McClellan’s appointment, RCG managing director for North America Doug Pfeister said: “We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie to RCG. Her reputation and experience as a leader in the US offshore wind industry will allow RCG to deliver great value for our customers.
“Stephanie is an incomparable addition to the team as we lead clients through the challenges and opportunities presented by this growth,”
McClellan said she was happy to be joining the RCG team.
“These are exciting times in the renewables industry, and I’m looking forward to working directly with clients at this pivotal point in the industry’s growth,” she added.
