UK solar and battery developer Renewables Connections has recruited Philip Hale (pictured) as its first-ever chief operations officer (COO).
The appointment follows the continued growth of the company which has achieved significant success since its inception in 2020, securing over 0.5GW of solar and battery consents.
Hale has experience of managing renewable energy companies across Europe, the Middle East, Australasia and the UK, latterly working for international infrastructure expert Aurecon in New Zealand.
Managing director of Renewable Connections and director of parent company Armstrong Capital Management Michael Hughes said: “The creation of the new chief operations officer role, and Philip’s appointment, underline our strong commitment to the business’s continued growth.
“In the last few years our team have achieved unparalleled success, gaining 100% consent rate for solar, battery and hydrogen renewable energy projects across the UK, alongside launching our commercial division PowerGreen.
“Philip will play an integral role in helping us to continue this success.”

The company has also recently appointed a Land Acquisition manager to its Scottish division.
David Reid will lead on all landowner engagement in Scotland, operating as the key point of contact for landowners or farmers interested in hosting renewable energy projects on their land.
