Global offshore wind investor and developer Reventus Power has appointed Rasmus Wandrup as chief technical officer (CTO).
Wandrup (pictured) brings with him over 20 years of marine engineering and construction experience, having held a number of senior technical roles at Siemens Wind Power, Vattenfall, K2 Management and Synera Renewable Energy.
His career highlights include the delivery of the 372MW Taiwanese Formosa 2 offshore wind farm, awards of Formosa 4 and 6, and the successful operation of Formosa 1.
Wandrup was also part of the first floating wind project, Scotland’s Hywind, in 2009, and the first subsidy-free offshore wind farm, Hollandse Kust, in the Netherlands.
Prior to that he received his training at Denmark’s leading marine education institution SIMAC.
In his role at Reventus Power he will oversee technical due diligence, engineering, construction, project delivery and asset management of its growing offshore wind portfolio.
Reventus Power became the dedicated global offshore wind platform for CPP Investments in April 2024, doubling the size of its global team.
Wandrup’s appointment follows that of Michael van der Heijden as CEO and Jochen Froehlich as CFO.
Van der Heijden said: “Building on the foundations of a highly active 2024, Reventus Power continues to prioritise the recruitment of elite talent to further strengthen our in-house technical, financial, and commercial expertise.
“I am delighted to welcome Rasmus to the team.”
Wandrup added: “It is well-noted that the global offshore wind industry is experiencing some technical and economic challenges at present, but it is also at the foothills of an exceptional long-term growth opportunity.
“It is up to the sector to understand these circumstances and seize that opportunity. Reventus Power has been shaped to thrive in this environment and I’m extremely excited to join the team.”
