Former Vestas chief executive Anders Runevad has been nominated for a position on the company’s board of directors.
Runevad stood down as Vestas chief executive last year but has been put forward for election to the board at the company’s annual general meeting on 7 April.
Karl-Henrik Sundström, formally chief executive at renewable materials company Storna Enso, has also been nominated for a chair at the top table.
If elected the pair will receive DKK 425,000 (£49,150) annually plus further fees for committee duties.
Runevad already serves as chairman of the board of directors at the group’s offshore wind turbine joint-venture MHI Vestas.
All existing board members at Vestas will also be up for re-election at the AGM, which will be held in the Danish city of Aarhus.
