Engineering consultancy LOC Group has named RV Ahilan as its chief executive.
He was previously joint CEO alongside Jerome Rutler, who will take up the position of deputy chief executive.
Ahilan has over three decades of industry experience, more than 15 years of which has been at board level.
He has served as executive vice president of the renewables advisory division at DNV GL, president of GL Garrad Hassan and managing director of GL Noble Denton in the Americas and Europe, before joining LOC Group in February 2016.
Ahilan said: “I am really excited to take the helm today. We look to broaden our services offering and geographical presence, make acquisitions to build on our strong international platform and continue to deliver the best possible service to our clients.”
Greater market focus is to be placed on the shipping, oil and gas and renewables sectors, the company said.
Ahilan will continue to lead the group’s renewables activities, while Ian Cummins will head its London business, in addition to leading the oil and gas unit.
Andrew Squire will head the shipping business and Jake Anderson will take the lead of the development and growth of design and consulting engineering across the group companies including its recent acquisition, Innosea.
