Stephen Bull, who oversees Equinor’s North Sea offshore wind operations, is leaving the company to join Aker Solutions.
Bull (pictured) said he will take up his new role as Aker Solutions’ executive vice president for the renewables division this summer.
He leaves Equinor after 13 “fantastic years” at the company.
On his LinkedIn page, Bull said: “The past five years especially stand out for me in Equinor, with the immense privilege in contributing to building Equinor’s New Energy Solutions into a major business area with an extremely exciting growth platform.
“It’s the people, values and foresight that makes this all happen, and I will deeply miss wonderful colleagues.
“I look forward to exciting, new opportunities in Aker Solutions and continue to drive the #energytransition.”
In February 2020 Bull was appointed senior vice president, North Sea region, in Equinor’s New Energy Solutions business unit, based in London.
Before that he was SVP wind and low carbon development within the business unit, from August 2015 until January 2020.
Bull is also chair of UK trade body RenewableUK.
Bull, who was formerly vice chair, replaced Julian Brown in 2018.
Earlier today it was announced that Aker, through subsidiary Aker Horizons, is taking a 75% equity stake in Mainstream Renewable Power.
Aker Offshore Wind and Aker Carbon Capture form the basis for Aker Horizons’ investment portfolio.
