Offshore wind contractor and vessel supplier Swire Blue Ocean (SBO) has appointed Matt Bowden as area manager for Taiwan.
Bowden, who joined the company on 1 March 2019, will be based in Taipei.
He will provide strategic leadership in business development, sales and marketing and operations both locally and in other east Asian markets.
Bowden has worked for the Swire Group in various commercial and operations-related roles in China, Hong Kong and India.
“With our operational experience and a strong track record in the renewables sector, SBO will harness our strengths and we plan to access the diverse range of vessels in the Swire Pacific Offshore fleet to contribute positively to the development of the fast expanding offshore wind industry in Taiwan,” said SBO chief executive Mikkel Gleerup.
SBO owns and operates two offshore wind farm vessels and is a fully owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific Offshore Operations.
Throughout 2017, 2018 and 2019, SBO’s installation vessels have operated in deep waters with jacking operations and the company’s recent projects have been defined by conditions similarly challenging to those found off the coasts of Taiwan.
