US offshore wind developer US Wind has hired Timothy Mack as the company’s new foundation package and localisation manager.
In his new role, Mack will lead US Wind’s efforts to build the steel foundations for the company’s offshore wind project off the coast of Maryland.
“Tim’s deep experience in the steel and offshore wind industries is critically important to our plans to make Maryland a hub of offshore wind jobs,” said Jeff Grybowski, US Wind CEO.
Mack joins US Wind from EEW AOS where he most recently served as US business development manager for offshore wind.
Mack brings 25 years of experience in the steel industry and 14 years of experience in the offshore energy industry to the US Wind team.
“We are going to create a lot of jobs in Maryland, said Mack. “Maryland’s top-shelf port facilities and skilled workers are perfect for offshore wind.
“I look forward to using my experience to help US Wind and the state of Maryland take a leading role in this growth.”
US Wind was awarded Offshore Renewable Energy Credits (ORECs) in 2017 from the State of Maryland for the first phase of its MarWin project.
In total, the company’s lease area can support approximately 1.5GWof offshore wind energy capacity.
