Vineyard Wind chief financial officer (CFO) Alvaro Ortega Sebastian has been appointed as vice president of finance at Avangrid.
Ortega Sebastian will report to Patricia Cosgel, who has been appointed as interim chief financial officer at Avangrid.
Cosgel’s and Ortega Sebastian’s appointments are part of several senior executive appointments designed to “strengthen the leadership of key functions and to further drive business objectives” at the US energy company.
In his new role Ortega Sebastian (pictured) will have responsibility for risk and investor relations.
Ortega Sebastian was appointed CFO of US offshore wind developer Vineyard Wind in late 2018.
Before his role as Vineyard Wind CFO, Ortega previously served as treasury manager of Avangrid Renewables and Networks, deputy treasury director for Avangrid Renewables, and finance and treasury analyst at Iberdrola in Bilbao, Spain.
The other Avangrid executive team appointments include Kyra Patterson to the role of senior vice president and chief human resources officer, Dave Labelle to the newly created role of chief administrative officer and Nacho Arronte to the role of vice president and chief risk officer.
