Eneco UK is to refocus its business on products and services connected to its established asset base, although it does not rule out further renewables growth in the future.
The company said that this is in line with Eneco’s group strategy, which will focus more on ‘energy as a service’ for retail and business customers.
It may develop the company’s renewable asset base in the future but only “where suitable”.
Eneco UK added that the country director Guy Madgwick will step down, with current deputy Zoisa Walton taking up the role on 1 January.
The company said Walton is “ideally placed to further the UK ambitions into products and services with her background in corporate communications and business development”.
The Eneco UK business includes more than 200MW of operational wind farms in Scotland, a 10MW solar scheme that supplies Honda near Swindon, and green energy supply contracts with companies such as Heineken, AkzoNobel, Scottish Water, Honda and Unilever.
