SSE’s adjusted operating profit from electricity generation fell by £18.6m to £123.2m in the first six months of the 2016/2017 financial year, compared with the same period last year.
The company said the drop was mainly due to a 20.5% decrease in electricity output from renewables.
SSE said it has 1GW of wind farm capacity in construction or pre-construction, including the 225MW Stronelairg onshore project.
The projects are scheduled to come online in the next three years and will increase the company’s renewable energy capacity to almost 4GW.
