Profit at Siemens wind and renewables business surged 178% to €143m between April and June, compared with €51m in the same period last year.
Orders at the unit jumped more than 200% to €2.7bn in the third quarter of the financial year, up from €693m in 2015.
The German giant said the “substantial growth” was driven by increases in both offshore and onshore business, as well as in its service unit.
Siemens’ wind business, which is set to merge with Gamesa, won a €1.4bn order for an offshore project in the UK and a €0.5bn deal for another one in Germany during the period.
Renewables revenue also grew by 22% between April and June to €1.7bn, compared with €1.4bn last year.
Overall, Siemens reported a 5% rise in revenue to €19.8bn, up from €18.8bn last year, while orders were up 6% at €21bn compared with €19.9bn in 2015.
