RenewableUK has added three staff members to its policy and external affairs team, completing a restructure that involved creating the new role of economist.
Barnaby Wharton, formerly a senior policy adviser at the Confederation of British Industry, has joined the lobby group as head of policy.
Marina Valls, who previously worked for a gas storage operator, has joined as economist, while former WWF manager Rebecca Williams has joined as a new policy manager.
“I’m delighted to reinforce our excellent RenewableUK policy team with talented individuals from varied backgrounds,” RenewableUK executive director Emma Pinchbeck (pictured) said.
“The team are hitting the ground running and are looking forward to working with industry and officials alike to support our growing UK renewables sector.”
The group also announced the results of its latest board election, which has seen the approval of six directors. They include Statoil’s Stephen Bull, Innogy’s Zoe Keeton, Siemens Gamesa’s Clark McFarlane, ScottishPower Renewables’ Lindsay McQuade, UK A2Sea’s Andy Reay and RES’s Rachel Ruffle.
