RWE and Innogy have kicked off a feasibility study for an up to 100MW hydrogen plant in the Netherlands fed by wind power.
The power-to-gas project would be built at RWE’s power station in Eemshaven and be supplied by Innogy’s nearby 156MW Westereems wind farm.

The German companies said they would assess the feasibility of the project in the coming months alongside supply chain partners and local authorities.
Research and development work still needs to be conducted and the regulatory framework “adapted” to accommodate the technology, they added.
The first findings of the study are expected in the autumn.
