German energy company RWE has warned that any windfall tax on UK generators would make the company reconsider £15bn investment plans for renewable energy in an interview with chief executive Markus Krebber in the Financial Times newspaper.
Krebber said the interview that would make the company think again about its investment plans, including offshore wind.

“If the environment changes – and part of that is of course the regulatory framework and political decisions – everybody would reconsider,” the FT quoted Krebber as saying.
He added that the UK government should look at companies’ profits over a longer period, rather than short term, the FT article said.
RWE confirmed the statements made by Krebber (pictured) in the FT are correct.
