Siemens Energy and China Power have signed an agreement for a hydrogen production system in Beijing.
The 1MW electrolyser is the first of its kind to be built by Siemens Energy in China and will be delivered in May 2021.
The plant will produce the clean gas for a fuelling station in Beijing’s Yanqing district, which is one of the three main competition areas for a major sporting event in 2022
It will help guarantee the hydrogen supply for the public transportation during and after the event, Siemens Energy said.
In September 2019 Siemens signed a memorandum of understanding on “cooperation in green hydrogen development and comprehensive utilisation” with State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), the main shareholder of China Power.
The two parties also plan to further expand their cooperation on green hydrogen projects.
