Siemens Energy is in talks with workers over jobs cuts at loss-making turbine manufacturing unit Siemens Gamesa.
The company declined to outline how many roles could be affected but Bloomberg reported up to 4100 positions may be at risk.
Jobs in Denmark, Spain and Germany are all up for discussion, according to Bloomberg.
In a statement, a spokesperson said negotiations are underway with workers.
“The nature of negotiations is that the result is only clear at the end, not at the beginning,” the spokesperson told reNEWS.
“Once we have discussed the details with all parties involved and know how many of the jobs affected can be absorbed by growth in other areas, we will announce a result.”
Siemens Gamesa is in the midst of restructuring after significant losses in recent years partly due to the ramp up of its 4.X and 5.X platform for onshore wind.
It reported a €365m loss for the second quarter of this year.
