UK electrical engineering company Smith Brothers, which is active in the onshore wind market, has made three senior appointments as it prepares for anticipated growth.
John Benson has joined the team as head of extra high voltage projects. He has more than 30 years’ industry experience and has worked for companies such as Siemens, Freedom and Anglian Water.
The role has been created as the demand for high voltage primary works continues to grow, Smith Brothers said.
Michael McLaughlin has been appointed head of operations for Ireland. He has expertise in projects ranging from large-scale commercial works to renewables and has worked for infrastructure giants including Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty.
Finally, Dan Wagner, who joined Smith Brothers in 2016 as senior project manager, has been named operations manager. Wagner worked for 12 years at Electricity North West and a further two years at Northern Power Grid.
