Tepco picks O&M software

Tepco Renewable Power and Shoreline Wind have announced a collaboration aimed at optimizing the design and management of offshore wind power operations and maintenance (O&M) by utilising intelligent simulation software.

Japanese renewables player Tepco is on a mission to significantly expand its offshore wind portfolio and as part of this strategy, it sought a solution to accurately evaluate maintenance and management costs, predict future cash flows, and streamline operational logistics.

After thorough evaluation, Tepco said it determined Danish company Shoreline Wind’s O&M simulation software is the ideal tool to meet these requirements.

The Japanese outfit said: “We aim to expand our offshore wind power business and believe that improving our ability to accurately assess the maintenance and management costs of offshore wind farms and forecast future cash flows will help us make ongoing development and investment decisions.

“Shoreline Wind’s industry-leading O&M simulation software is extremely effective in assessing operation costs of offshore wind farms, especially in securing resources such as personnel, vessels, and ports, and in building logistics systems.

“Tepco Renewable Power will utilize Shoreline Wind’s software in the design of its offshore wind power projects.”

By integrating Shoreline Wind’s O&M simulation software into the design phase of its offshore wind projects, the developer is supported with a digital framework for insights into costs, availability, and resource utilisation during the operations and maintenance campaigns. A key task for Tepco is the estimation of maintenance costs and vessel specifications, including the costs and specifications of Crew Transfer Vessels during operations.

The developer said its collaboration with Shoreline Wind marks a significant step towards more innovative and digitalised offshore wind operations and by utilising data-driven outputs strategically for O&M planning, it is intelligently supporting its offshore wind operations with reduced uncertainties and improved reliability.
