Toshiba Corp has signed an agreement with Turkish company Zorlu Energy Group to supply steam turbines and generators for up to three geothermal power plants in Turkey.
Zorlu is investigating three locations in the country where it is considering constructing plants by October 2020.
The companies said that if the survey results meet “agreed terms and conditions” Toshiba has exclusive rights to negotiate the supply of kit for all three plants.
Toshiba vice president of thermal and hydro power systems and services Takao Konishi said: “I am certain that the excellent performance and advanced technology of our (steam turbines and generators) can contribute even more to geothermal power supply in Turkey.”
