The APQP4Wind project has launched a manual that sets out common standards and best practices for the production of wind turbines.
The manual has been developed by a steering committee made up of Siemens Wind Power, Vestas Wind Systems, KK Wind Solutions and LM Wind Power.
The initiative has also launched a new website and is developing training and aims to “ensure that manufacturers and suppliers speak the same language when it comes to quality assurance”.
It was set up by the Danish Wind Industry Association in 2015 with the support of the Danish Industry Foundation.
Danish Wind Industry Association project manager Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen said: “The wind industry is ready to take the next step in quality assurance in production and by focusing on quality planning rather than just quality control, APQP4Wind will help to ensure fewer mistakes and thus lower costs.”
