The UK government is offering £15m grant funding to projects that reduce costs of carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) and speed up deployment of the technology.
The CCUS Innovation grant will provide up to £5m for feasibility studies, industrial research or experimental development projects.
Up to £7m will be available for research infrastructure to enable the “UK to conduct world-leading research and innovation into CCUS”, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) said.
Funding will be available for up to two years, with projects finishing by 31 March 2021, BEIS added.
Interested parties have until 11 November 2018 to apply.
BEIS has also launched phase seven of the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund, which supports the development and demonstration of new technologies promoting energy efficiency, power generation and heat and electricity storage.
