Vattenfall has acquired energy sales company Vindstød.dk, which sells electricity generated by wind power to customers in Denmark.
The Swedish company said offering green energy through Vindstød.dk will complement its onshore and offshore wind businesses in Denmark.
Vattenfall head of customers and solutions Martijn Hagens said: “The demand in the market makes it a natural step for us to move from being a wind power developer and operator to also start providing Danish customers with 100% renewable energy.
He added that Vattenfall aims to grow the Vindstød.dk business “significantly”.
The two companies have not disclosed the financial details of the transaction.
