Dassault Systèmes has been selected by Vestas to provide the ‘Sustainable Wind Turbines’ industry solution experience for the Danish company’s manufacturing operations management.
Dassault said the system is based on the 3D Experience platform that will provide “engineering, manufacturing and project management capabilities that integrate multidisciplinary information in a global collaborative environment”.
It allows companies to virtually plan and validate their manufacturing processes before the start of production, “minimising production costs, shop floor delays and issues, while ensuring higher product quality and the desired production throughput”.
Vestas will be able to “coordinate and synchronize people, processes, equipment, tooling and materials, as well as processes beyond the wind turbine plant floor such as quality, warehouse, maintenance, labour and supply chain”.
Vestas executive vice president and chief operating officer Jean-Marc Lechêne said: “The platform allows us to transform managing our manufacturing operations with a comprehensive approach.
“We can improve business efficiencies, better adapt to local standards and help establish long-term sustainability solutions, for any market.”
