Carnegie Wave Energy shareholders have approved a change of name to Carnegie Clean Energy and the acquisition of the remaining 65% of microgrid developer Energy Made Clean.
The transaction will be executed on 6 December.
Carnegie plans to build what it claims to be the world’s first wave-integrated microgrid on Western Australia’s Garden Island.
The project will feature a solar photovoltaic plant and battery storage.
The Fremantle outfit also plans to install a 1MW single CETO 6 point absorber wave device at Cornwall’s Wave Hub in 2018, followed by a further 14MW at the same site in 2021.
