French marine trade association Ouest Normandie Energies Marines (ONEM) is to fold next month and be replaced by a new organisation run by the Normandy regional government.
The activities of the public-private ONEM, which will not be renewed following its five-year run, will be subsumed by development agency Agence de Développement pour la Normandie (ADN).
ADN will create a new entity to be known as Organisation Normandie Energies Marines following a transition period beginning on 2 July.
Marine activities will be co-lead by Normandy’s director of major partnerships Bruno Dumont and marine energy officer Stephane Mazurais, it is understood.
Marine energy has been identified by Normandy as one of 12 priority areas for economic growth.
ONEM was created in July 2012.
