Sustainable Marine Energy will next week kick off the final mooring works ahead of connection of its 100kW Plat-O submerged tidal platform at Orkney’s European Marine Energy Centre.
The mooring and cable works are scheduled to start on 22 September with completion slated for 13 October.
Orkney marine renewables service provider Leask Marine will engage its multi-cat C-Chariot vessel supported by the workboats C-Salvor, Uskmoor and Live Wyre for the works.
The vessels will sail out of Hatston pier in Kirkwall for the work close to the island of Eday.
The Plat-O device features two 50kW Schottel Hydro’s SIT turbines.
Scotrenewables has meanwhile asked Marine Scotland to approve a scour protection programme for the SR2000 device anchors installed at its Fall of Warness berth at EMEC.
