Nautricity is to retrieve its 500kW tidal turbine for maintenance from the European Marine Energy Centre off Orkney in Scotland.
The Glasgow developer has hired Leask Marine to recover the Cormat device from berth three of EMEC’s Fall of Warness grid-connected test site off Eday.
Leask Marine vesse C-Odyssey, fitted with a custom-made turbine recovery system, will set sail on 24 September.
Hardware will be recovered to Hatston pier in Kirkwall on the Orkney mainland. Maintenance operations will then prepare the turbine for redeployment.
Operations are scheduled to wrap up by 4 October.
