SgurrEnergy has won an asset management contract for Atlantis Resource’s 6MW Meygen Phase 1A tidal project in the Pentland Firth.
The contract will see SgurrEnergy acting as the site operations contractor initially providing National Grid Control Point services.
There is also an option for expanding services to include remote operational monitoring, control and reporting of the four 1.5MW tidal turbines and future turbines at the MeyGen site.
The company will provide the services from its upgraded SgurrControlCentre in Glasgow.
The centre will utilise its SgurrPerformance product to provide analysis and key information for the offshore assets.
Atlantis Resources director of project delivery David Taaffe said: “We have appointed SgurrEnergy to manage this aspect of the project as we were impressed with their commitment to developing their control centre in Glasgow, their depth of knowledge relating to the project, and the level of expertise that they have previously shown.”
