DCNS has removed one of its two OpenHydro/Arcouest 500kW tidal turbines out of the water at the Paimpol-Brehat test site off Brittany, France.
The machine is now being repaired at Cherbourg harbour with a team of 15 people working to ensure the hardware can be returned to the before the end of the year.
The second turbine at Paimpol-Bhehat will also be lifted out of the water in the near future.
DCNS is replacing components that were blocking the turbine rotors from running correctly.
