Scotrenewables’ 2MW floating tidal turbine has arrived at Kirkwall in Orkney after leaving Belfast Harbour last week.
The 64-metre long SR2000 device was towed by Scotmarine’s Orcadia II vessel.
The world’s largest tidal turbine will be deployed in the coming weeks at the European Marine Energy Centre’s Fall of Warness grid-connected site.
The Kirkwall developer installed an earlier prototype – the SR250 – in 2011.
