Renewable energy advisory group IT Power Consulting has been appointed by the UK’s independent panel to lead a team assessing the feasibility of tidal lagoon energy.
ITP said it will steer a group of technical advisers to the panel, which also includes Energised Environments, Xero Energy and individual experts Professors Roger Falconer and Chris Binnie.
In May, the now defunct Department of Energy and Climate Change called for industry stakeholders to provide advice on the cost, benefits and opportunities of tidal lagoons.
The independent review, announced by DECC in February, is being led by Charles Hendry, a former UK energy minister.
