Dutch utility Eneco increased net profits after tax by €2m in 2015 to €208m compared with the previous year, buoyed by windy weather driving increased power from its wind farms.
Eneco said November and December were particularly windy coinciding with several new wind farms coming online.
The company spent €260m on the construction of new wind farms last year, which included the 62.7MW Delfzijl-Noord, the 129MW Luchterduinen, the 6MW Aarlen Messancy in Belgium and the 22.5MW Burn of Whik project in the UK.
The company’s gross margin was up €60m or 4% at €1.637bn, compared with €1.577bn in 2014.
However, Eneco warned that market conditions are “challenging and are expected to remain so for the time being”.
