Geo Green Power has installed solar panels at 13 motorway service stations throughout the UK to help Moto Hospitality boost its green credentials.
Work has now finished on the £1.1m contract with Moto, and the solar panels have an estimated output of 1240MWh a year.
Service stations now sporting solar panels include Winchester North, Wetherby, Grantham, Pease Pottage, Donnington Park, Stirling, Trowell, Woolley Edge Southbound, Thurrock, Southwaite, Woolley Edge Northbound, Cherwell Valley and Rugby.
Moto has set ambitious targets to reduce its carbon footprint, with renewable energy playing a key role.
Each installation by Geo Green Power is having an immediate impact on emissions, delivering a total reduction of 311 tonnes of CO2 annually.
Geo Green Power won the contract through a competitive tendering process involving 12 other companies.
The renewable energy specialist will now provide a five-year maintenance contract as part of the deal.
