The 450MW project was recognised for overcoming major challenges on its path to completion, the organisers said.

The event in Edinburgh saw winners across 14 categories honoured for their contribution to a sector that employs more than 47,000 people.

Among them, the East Region Commercial Fisheries Working Group won the Best Engagement Award for its role in supporting ScotWind developers and fishers.

Sam Johnson of RES took the Champion of Renewables Award for work spanning low-impact lighting, impact-assessment tools and progress on Eskdalemuir and the Onshore Wind Sector Deal.

SP Energy Networks secured the Best Innovation Award – Software and Services for its Local Authority Network Insight Tool.

Claire Mack, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, said: “The Scottish Green Energy Awards are always a truly special occasion and for more than 20 years they have been recognising our industry’s unwavering commitment to setting new standards through world-class innovation and expertise.”

She added: “These awards are so important as they allow us to come together as an industry and look back on the successes we’ve achieved this year.”

Matthieu Hue, chief executive of EDF power solutions UK and Ireland, stated: “We extend our congratulations to all the nominees and the winners of tonight’s awards.”
