Orsted has selected Fleet Alliance to manage the Danish company’s cars and vans in the UK.
The deal follows a review by Orsted of its fleet management operation in the country, followed by a tender process involving three suppliers.
Fleet Alliance will now be responsible for managing the Orsted’s fleet of 33 cars and vans plus, under a separate project, its ‘grey fleet’ of over 100 vehicles.
The work will see Fleet Alliance take over all administration including the motor insurance database and fines management, servicing, maintenance and daily rental and scheduling.
It also covers duty of care management, including driver licence checking and vehicle inspection reporting.
The cloud-based e-Fleet management system will be used to carry out the work, while the e-Fleet Mobile app will be available to all Orsted drivers to allow them to access support services and electronically complete vehicle inspection reports.
Fleet Alliance will also introduce a competitive tendering strategy for all new vehicles to be added to the Orsted fleet, employing a panel of four preferred contract hire funders to find the most competitive leasing quotations.
Orsted UK assistant sourcing specialist, procurement Harry McAlister said: “Fleet Alliance were the stand-out candidate from our tender process and we look forward to working closely with them going forward to improve the operation of our fleet here in the UK.”
Fleet Alliance managing director Martin Brown said: “We are delighted to welcome Orsted to our portfolio of corporate clients, and will be providing them with increased admin support across the fleet, as well as introducing a number of new measures to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.”
