Over 800 international offshore wind professionals are getting together in Ostend at the fifth edition of the Belgian Offshore Days, on 20 and 21 March.
Focus at this year’s event, organised by the Belgian Offshore Cluster (BOC), is on the development of services needed to maintain existing and future wind farms.
Companies representing the offshore wind supply chain are from the Netherlands, Denmark, UK, France, Germany, Norway, Poland, Russia and also Belgium.
Christophe Dhaene, chairman of the Belgian Offshore Cluster and Bart Tommelein, mayor of the city of Ostend, opened the event.
Speakers are from companies including IBN Offshore Energy, DNV-GL, ZF Windpoer, LM Windpower, the Blue Cluster and the Port of Ostend.
Visitors to Belgian Offshore Days will have an exclusive opportunity to visit the Taillevent, Jan De Nul’s installation vessel in the port.
BOC is an association that brings together Belgian suppliers to the offshore wind industry.
The aim of the cluster is to stimulate cooperation between the companies working in the wind energy sector and to serve as a gateway to the international market.
