The green economic recovery will top the agenda at a virtual global offshore wind event this summer that is being organised by RenewableUK.
The Global Offshore Wind V-Fest (virtual festival), which will be held on 22-24 July, is the first event of its kind, R-UK said.
Delegates will see and hear live sessions in which leading decision-makers in the global offshore wind industry will unveil plans for the future and answer questions from delegates.
Other major themes will include how to accelerate the global energy transition to reach net zero emissions, the latest technological innovations in offshore wind and working in the new post-virus environment worldwide.
R-UK’s project intelligence team will present specially-tailored market updates focussing on the UK, the rest of Europe, the US and Asia.
Supply chain presentations on floating wind and cables will offer unique insights into opportunities coming up to secure new multi-million-pound contracts.
There will be a virtual exhibition that allows delegates to interact online with individual companies that will have booths online at the three-day event.
Delegates will also be able to carry out virtual networking and attend “meet the buyer” events and B2B roundtables, as well as holding one-to-one meetings.
R-UK executive director Isabel DiVanna said: “As we start to emerge from the lockdown, many countries are focussing their efforts on putting green growth at the heart of their plans for kickstarting their country’s economic recovery.
“That’s one of the key themes at our virtual Global Offshore Wind event next month; we’ll be drilling down into the details of how this can be achieved with international business leaders from across the sector as well as the most insightful independent analysts and senior Government representatives.
“We’ll also be showcasing the full potential of innovative technologies like renewable hydrogen which will be generated at scale by offshore wind in the decades ahead – a key technology in reaching net zero.
“Our V-Fest won’t be anything like Zoom conferencing or the usual virtual events you’re used to; our unique platform will provide a full conference, exhibition and networking experience – all delivered virtually.
“It will be an immersive online experience so you’ll feel like you’re actually there, connecting with companies of all different sizes and getting the inside track on where the global sector is heading next.”
Strategic event partners are SSE Renewables, Orsted, Innogy, MHI Vestas, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and ScottishPower Renewables, R-UK said.
The V-Fest is being held ahead of R-UK’s 19th annual Global Offshore Wind event which will take place on 27-28 October at Manchester Central.
