RenewableUK appoints deputy chief executive

RenewableUK is teaming up with US trade group Business Network for Offshore Wind (BNOW) to host joint webinars to highlight offshore wind opportunities in UK and American markets.

On 24 March BNOW will offer RenewableUK members an insight into the US elections and what it means for UK businesses looking to enter the US market.

Speakers will include Emily Huggins Jones, a partner at the international law firm Squire Patton Boggs, on the administration’s support for offshore wind and how the industry will change over the next four years.

Brandon Burke, BNOW’s policy and outreach director, will present a US market update and policy insights.

On 25 March RenewableUK will provide members of BNOW with insights into the European offshore wind market.

The webinar will be introduced by the association’s deputy CEO Melanie Onn (pictured) who will also chair the session.

It will include an update from senior analyst Bahzad Ayoub on current and future market opportunities from RenewableUK’s project intelligence database.

Strategic communications director Luke Clark will present an overview of the political landscape and our policy and regulation head Rebecca Williams will speak on CfD auctions, market design and avenues to entry.

RenewableUK business development director Vicky Mant said: “It’s great to be working closely with our American counterparts at the Business Network for Offshore Wind on behalf of both our memberships.

“As green growth helps all of us to recover economically from the effects of the global pandemic, international collaboration is key to ensure that market information is being exchanged as widely as possible in this exciting period of growth in the UK and US offshore wind sectors.”

BNOW collaboration and communications senior vice president Lori Rugh said: “2021 is an important year for the global offshore wind industry. Offshore wind has proven resilient through the pandemic and is poised for significant growth as economies turn to greener, affordable forms of energy and job creating industries.

“The Network looks forward to our continuing partnership with RenewableUK to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking to grow the industry and its supply chain”.
