Employees at the Moray East offshore wind farm and at Simec Atlantis Energy were among the winners of Scottish Renewables 2019 Young Professionals Green Energy Awards.
Moray East’s Ross Cottam took the project development award, while his colleague Adele Brownlie won the professional service category.
The analyst award went to Simec Atlantis Energy’s Daniel Coles, with Orkney Islands Council’s Eibhlin Lee taking the achiever gong.
Other winners, which were announced last night at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow from a shortlist of 39, were Hazel Smith from the University of Strathclyde in the academic category, Renewable Parts’ Ethan Glencross, who took the apprentice award, and Andrew Herdman of Ferguson Marine Engineering taking the engineer prize.
Ferguson Marine Engineering’s Shane Hand took the innovator award and the judges award went to Hannah Houston from the University of Strathclyde.
Scottish Renewables chief executive Claire Mack said: “Once again the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards bring the renewables industry together to recognise the contributions being made by its upcoming leaders.
“The standard of talent showcased by all of our shortlisted entrants is truly inspiring.
“The skills, professionalism and passion shown by tonight’s winners demonstrate their commitment to their careers.
“I encourage them to maintain the same determination as they grow and develop to shape the future of the renewables industry.”
The winners will now go on to compete for the Young and Inspiring Award at the Scottish Green Energy Awards, which will be held in Edinburgh on 5 December.
