ABB has commissioned on schedule five substations to integrate the 648MW Kamuthi solar project in Tamil Nadu to the Indian national grid.
Independent power producer Adani Group awarded ABB the contract last year for the project, which is made up of five solar plants in a single location.
The work covered the design, supply, installation and commissioning related to the solar plant electrification and automation systems.
It included two 230kV and three 110kV outdoor switchyards to connect to the local transmission grid.
ABB said 360MW of the solar project is currently grid-connected.
